Personal Work -
Playing with Ambigrams - continued
I have a dear friend named Annie. A couple of years back she turned
me on to quilting. This last August I went on my second quilt
retreat with her. She's really quite amazing you should check out
her web site Simple Arts.
She's known for being the First Podcast of Quilters.
Anyway I digress, I designed the ambigram with her in mind and then
created a cross stitch pattern for it. It's to be incorporated in
an "Album Block" - this is a block that the quilter signs, usually,
but not always one of many blocks in a Friendship Quilt.
Demara & Adam - my daughter & her husband
I really like the way that this one turned out. It is a tribute to
my daughter and her husband Sgt. Adam Wayne Estep who died with honor while
serving his country in Iraq. (April 29th 2004) I'm grateful that I knew him
and I am especially thankful today on the 5th anniversery of September 11,
2001 that there are still men and women who are willing to lay down their
lives that we might enjoy the freedoms of this great nation.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his
life for his friends.
